In 2010, At just 10 months of age, Alyssa Miller was diagnosed with high-risk Infantile Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. Alyssa was given a 40% chance of beating this disease, and due to her young age she was not likely to reach her 1st birthday. After around 8 months of chemotherapy, which failed to get her to remission, Alyssa had a bone marrow transplant in April 2011.
Alyssa is now cancer-free.
With the support of Unilever ANZ and Streets ice cream, Alyssa has created a team in this years 24hr Fight against Cancer to raise awareness and vital funds for cancer treatment in the Macarthur area.
